What do you get when Larry Roetzel, the 2007 Wyoming State Banjo Champion, Cal Winland, a regionally acclaimed songwriter, and Kerry Wallace, whose latest album "Songs to Sing and Tales to Tell" is getting radio airplay in various states and overseas, come together to form a new band?

BLUESAGE and LACE! All experienced musicians from other bands, this intriguing trio has combined styles, genres, repertoires, and writing for a hybrid Americana presentation of country rock, bluegrass, folk and country music. Their expressive and dynamic presentation reveals a love of music, and their balanced harmonies and tasteful instrumentation bring forth the story and the meaning of each song, inviting you to experience a unique and captivating brand of original music as well as old favorites.

Cal Winland

Cal Winland, on bass and vocals with Bluesage and Lace, is also a songwriter and guitar player. His song "Under the Wyoming Moon" was first released on Kerry Wallace's album "Songs to Sing and Tales to Tell" and was performed by the University of Wyoming's Singing Statesmen during their 2013 season. His numerous original writings reflect his Wyoming heritage, life experiences, and love of the way a story can be expressed best in a song. He is a founding member of the band Cabin Creek who have been playing together for over 30 years and was also a member of the Razor City Wranglers.

Larry Roetzel

1997 Wyoming State banjo champion, Larry Roetzel is self taught on the five string since age of 14. Consequently his galloping rhythm picking style is completely uncommon and enheartening. Larry has been the leader of the Cambria Sting Band for the last 7 years, popular for their un-bluegrass styles of music played in bluegrass style, performing around the Black Hills region. Besides singing lead and back up vocals for Bluesage and Lace, he brings a comedy element to performances to add some giggles in between the songs!
